Information

Steve Cervenka, owner of Flambeau Guide Service, has lived and fished in Northern Wisconsin his whole life. His interest in fly fishing started when he was in his twenties and has since become his passion. Steve became a professional fly fishing guide six years ago, specializing in the waters of Northern Wisconsin, including Chequamegon Bay and many neighboring lakes and rivers. Steve is also a US Coast Guard Certified Captain. His guiding trips usually involve either a Hyde drift boat for river fishing or a Maverick Flats boat for lake and bay fishing. Where appropriate, waders may also be used. Each fly fishing trip is specifically suited to the individual and all fishing is catch and release.

Steve's fly fishing expertise is not limited to Wisconsin, he has traveled to various parts of the country and even South America for fly fishing. Even with this experience, however, Steve is confident that the waters of Northern Wisconsin offer his clients an experience like no other. The lakes and rivers of Northern Wisconsin provide an opportunity to fish in near wilderness where the most frequent interaction is with eagles, ducks, deer, the occasional bear and elk, not to mention the trophy Smallmouth Bass.

Steve is a "catch and release" guide. No fish are kept, only a photo and some great memories. This helps ensure excellent fishing for generations to come.
