Information
Bill Kremers lives in the heart of the Willamette Valley where he is within an hour or two from some of the best fishing that the northwest has to offer. The owner of Oregon River Trails guide service, Bill has more than twenty years of guiding experience. A fully-insured guide, he is also licensed by the U.S. Coast Guard and is a certified member of Outdoor Venture Registry and a select member of G.I. Joe’s pro staff.
Bill fishes during all seasons. During the winter, he fishes for steelhead on the Alsea and Siletz. With the arrival of spring, he switches to trout fishing on the Deschutes and McKenzie. Summer trips range from smallmouth and shad fishing on the Umpqua River, to trout trips on the McKenzie and Williamson or steelhead fishing on the South Santiam River. Fall trips include steelhead and trout fishing on the Deschutes River, halfpounder and salmon fishing on the Rogue and fishing for chinook on the Alsea and Siletz rivers on the central Oregon coast.
In addition to guiding, Bill is a fishing instructor at Linn-Benton Community College. He teaches evening classes in fly fishing, salmon fishing, sturgeon fishing and a summer class on
fishing for trout and kokanee. He is the current president of the Albany chapter of Northwest Steelheaders and a member of the Northwest Outdoor Writers Association (NOWA).
Through the years, he has written articles on fishing in the Pacific Northwest for a variety of Northwest magazines. He also has a column in the Fish Sniffer (California's largest fishing magazine), where he writes about the fishing in Oregon.
