Information

I spend over 325 days a year on the water fishing, guiding, and instructing the art of fly fishing. I have been a dedicated full-time guide and instructor for seven years in Northern California, Montana and New Zealand. I love teaching, therefore I take an instructional approach to guiding, and welcome all experience and skill levels.

From May through November, I am a featured guide and instructor at Clearwater House on Hat Creek. Located in northern California, I have extensive experience guiding on multiple types of water. We have fabled spring creeks such as the Fall River and Hat Creek. We have boisterous freestones such as the famous McCloud and Pit rivers. I also guide in the Truckee-Tahoe area where there are excellent stillwaters and freestone rivers as well. In October and November, I guide for steelhead on the Trinity and American rivers. Being that I have guided on such diverse water types, I have an excellent understanding of the specific techniques needed for angling enjoyment and success. I love passing this knowledge on to my clients.

Being an FFF certified casting instructor, I can also accommodate private casting lessons for individuals or groups. Fly tying clinics can also be arranged.

I spend the winter months guiding and teaching in New Zealand. Words cannot describe this trout fishing heaven, you simply must see it for yourself.

In my spare time, I love to chase steelhead in southern Oregon. I also love bonefishing, and make several trips to Eleuthera each year.
