Jim grew fishing Oregon's McKenzie River in the Central Cascade Mountains and the upper Willamette Valley. Jim specializes in guiding the McKenzie River's pristine upper reaches from a McKenzie style drift boat. Jim has been an FFF certified casting instructor since 1997. Jim's approach to fly fishing is always centered around having fun!
Aside from fishing, Jim's interests include traveling the world and live music. Jim Berl created Jim's Oregon Whitewater in 1985 (doing business as Adventures in Fly Fishing), bringing to the table over two decades of guiding and outfitting experience on the Deschutes and McKenzie Rivers.
